Stereonet software built for structural geology
Stereogram carries orientation data from the outcrop to the finished
figure. Plot planes, poles and lineations on equal-area Schmidt or
equal-angle Wulff stereonets; contour pole densities with Kamb or
percent-area methods; resolve fold axes, joint sets and fault
kinematics; and keep every measurement on a map beside the plots. It
runs entirely in the browser on Windows and macOS, with a free iPhone
companion for capturing measurements in the field coming soon.
Stereonets, rose diagrams and density contouring
Stereogram Pro is the full analysis platform. Analysis runs client-side
in your browser, so your data stays on your machine unless you choose to
sync it.
- Equal-area (Schmidt) and equal-angle (Wulff) projections, with planes, poles, lineations and slip arrows
- Density contouring: three Kamb methods (standard, linear, exponential) plus percent-area (Schmidt 1%)
- Rose diagrams for strike, dip-direction and trend distributions, with per-bin statistics
- Fault kinematic analysis with slip-sense, P/T-axis and Bingham-style solutions

Stereogram Go is the free field companion. Take strike and dip in
compass mode, check the population on an on-device stereonet before you
leave the outcrop, and sync both ways with Stereogram Pro when you are
back on a connection. Measurements collected offline queue up and push
when the phone reconnects.
Go has not reached the App Store yet. Stereogram Pro is live today and
does not depend on it.

Every published structural measurement, in one map
The Structural Measurement Atlas is
our compilation of the public record: more than 800,000 bedding, foliation, joint,
cleavage, fault, vein and lineation measurements digitized from state survey
quadrangles, USGS data releases, NGMDB legacy maps and National Park Service
geodatabases — converted to one azimuth convention, reprojected to WGS 84,
and carrying the citation of the map each one came from.
It is free and needs no account. Lasso an area and the stereonet, rose diagram and
table follow your selection, then export it as CSV — source citations, confidence
tiers and the publishers’ original field names travel with the rows, and Stereogram
Pro imports the file directly.
